Kögel product range for the construction industry

Burtenbach, 1st September 2011

  • In future, Kögel will be offering a versatile range for the construction industry with the brand new tipper semi-trailer as well as the flatbed trailers as turntable trailer and semi-trailer variants
  • Tipper semi-trailer: Top-quality corrosion protection of chassis and tipper body by means of cathodic dip-paint coating with Nano Ceramic
  • Tipper semi-trailer: Modular concept due to screwed / bolted joining technology of the tipper body

The south German manufacturer Kögel will in future be standing on two solid columns. The new product portfolio for the construction industry is one of the two Kögel columns, the other one being the proven vehicles for the forwarding industry.

Brand new: the Kögel tipper semi-trailer
The tipper semi-trailer is a new arrival in the Kögel product range. This continues Kögel's decades of tradition as the manufacturer of tippers. In the construction industry, they have an almost legendary reputation. The new tipper semi-trailer is characterized particularly by its high level of flexibility in use, its high levels of stability, good handling and low maintenance costs.
For the first time, the construction industry has a fully cathodic dip-paint coated tipper. Not only the chassis but also the tipper body are equipped with this high-quality corrosion protection based on Nano Ceramic Technology. Another highlight is the modular concept of the Kögel tipper semi-trailer. Due to its screwed / bolted joining technology, the replacement of the tipper body components is possible more easily, cost-effectively and quickly. An absolute novelty, which offers the customers versatility during use.
Modern lightweight construction and production methods ensure an extremely low tare weight of less than 6,000 kg in the standard model.

Kögel Flatbed turntable trailer
Kögel offers flatbed trailers and turntable trailers with 3 or 4 axles for the transport of diggers, construction machines and heavy working equipment. The customers can choose between welded or bolted construction. The manually lowerable, air-suspended rear axle assembly ensures enhanced drive-up convenience. The standard bevelled edge at the rear represents a further advantage that leads to a lower loading height and a flat ramp angle of 10°. The offset plateau is particularly suitable for the transport of construction machines, wheeled loaders etc., which have additional secure location as a result of the offset.

Kögel flatbed semi-trailer - in bolted design
The Kögel flatbed semi-trailer is built by Kögel in bolted design and is characterized by its offset plateau and bevelled high bed. The innovative bolted technology guarantees the fast and cost-minimised replacement of individual frame elements in case of retro-fitting or damage. This way it can be adapted to individual wishes at any time. It has optimum corrosion protection due to the standard hot-dip galvanisation of the planks as well as the cathodic dip-paint coating with painting of the frame. As an option, Kögel also offers this with hot-dip galvanisation.

Highest level of corrosion protection by cathodic dip-paint coating
All welded Kögel vehicles are cathodic dip-paint coated and are surface treated with Nano Ceramic Technology. This high-quality corrosion protection ensures a long service life. It is more environmentally-friendly and offers a better energy balance than conventional surface coatings.

Kögel – a brand steeped in more than 75 years of tradition, which has earned itself a leading position throughout Europe, is back in the limelight, with renewed vigour and its unmistakable blend of experience and expertise. With the takeover of Kögel in 2009, Ulrich Humbaur assumed an active entrepreneurial role which gave the brand the stability and continuity it deserves. This is further consolidated by the very sturdy equity ratio that Ulrich Humbaur has made available to his company. Kögel has rediscovered itself by returning to the strengths that made it great in the first place: A passion for transport. Engineering quality. This is the innovation which these names deserve because they bring relevant customer value. And the reliability of an owner-managed family company with long-term prospects. In addition to the products for the forwarding industry, there are now models for the building and construction industry, one that is not an entirely new sphere for Kögel.
