The CO₂ emissions were calculated on the basis of the reduction in fuel consumption. The calculation is based on a CO₂ content of 2.65 kg per liter of diesel fuel.

The CO₂ emissions of electrically powered tractors are calculated on the basis of an electricity emission factor of 0.30 kg CO₂ per kWh (EU electricity mix). The actual values may vary depending on the energy source (e.g. green electricity, depot charging, guarantees of origin).

The advantages become apparent when comparing a previous standard model of a Kögel refrigerated truck—or a comparable refrigerated truck from another manufacturer—with a KÖGEL Cool LiTEShell.

The fuel savings of the refrigeration unit were calculated in comparison to the previous model, the Carrier Transicold Vector 1550.
