Save with Kögel: Support program for environmental protection and safety starts in April

As part of the Environmental Protection and Safety (US) program, the federal government is supporting companies in the road haulage sector to invest in more environmentally friendly and safer truck technology. From April 14, 2026, road haulage companies can submit applications and secure up to a maximum of 33,000 euros. Kögel offers numerous eligible equipment options.

The Federal Office of Logistics and Mobility's (BALM) Environmental Protection and Safety (formerly De-minimis) funding program supports companies in the commercial goods and works transport sector that invest in environmentally friendly and safety-enhancing vehicle equipment and technologies for more efficient use of trailers and superstructures. According to BALM, the funding rate is up to 80 percent of the eligible costs of a measure. Each company can apply for up to a maximum of 33,000 euros in one year.

The time window for applying for funding opens on April 14, 9:00 a.m., and closes no later than August 31, 2026, or when the funds provided for this purpose have been used up. It pays to be quick: BALM awards grants on a first-come, first-served basis. This means that the authority processes applications according to the date they are received in the BALM eService portal.

Efficient, sustainable and eligible for subsidies: lightweight construction, rail equipment, telematics

The federal government promotes efficient and sustainable transport solutions as well as equipment features that go beyond the legal requirements. These include, for example, roof tarpaulin lifting devices, dynamic wheelbase control, lightweight frames and chassis, cut-resistant mesh tarpaulins and tire pressure refill systems.

Kögel offers numerous trailers that are eligible for subsidies. These include the weight-optimized trailers of the Light Plus and Cargo series, the Kögel Euro Trailer (long truck type 1), the craneable Rail models and the refrigerated vehicles of the Kögel Cool Liteshell series. „With the environmental protection and safety promotion program, our customers can make their investments in environmentally friendly and safer trailers even more economical,“ explains Thore Bakker, CSO at Kögel. „Our sales experts not only support companies with the right vehicles, but also with consulting services relating to the subsidy applications.“
