Continuity, reliability and a secure future: Christian Spengler is the new CFO and executive board member of Kögel Trailer GmbH

In Christian Spengler, Kögel Trailer GmbH has appointed a new CFO from its own ranks, starting 1st January 2024. Together with Kögel CEO Christian Renners, Spengler will help ensure reliability and continuity, which will steer the Burtenbach-based trailer manufacturer towards a secure, sustainable future during a time of upheaval for the trailer industry.

The new CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Christian Spengler is a proven leader who has enjoyed a long-standing career as a financial expert and controller. The 39-year-old qualified banker and graduate of business economics (university of applied sciences) has a wealth of experience in various commercial leadership positions and stands for the continuity, stability and reliability of Kögel. Along with his appointment as CFO of Kögel Trailer GmbH, he will also become a member of the executive board of Kögel Trailer GmbH. In a dual leadership role with CEO (Chief Operating Officer) Christian Renners, he will manage the traditional Burtenbach-based company starting on 1st January 2024.

Christian Spengler is already well-connected in the company and the local region: the father of two joined the company in 2016 as an authorised signatory and head of controlling. He went on to become head of the commercial department, for which he will now share responsibility initially. In the long term, however, the plan is to relieve the commercial department by reinforcing the Controlling and Financial Accounting departments. Christian Spengler is also the managing director of the Italian subsidiary Kögel Italia S.R.L. In addition, he will shortly be appointed as the second managing director of the sandwich panel production department at Kögel PurFerro GmbH & Co. KG in Duingen, Germany.

Sustainable financial strategy for the company and its products

“My enthusiasm for the company and its products and services is what drives me. Thanks to my previous position, my distinctive hands-on mentality and the many years rooted in the local region, I have become a real Kögelian who is known by employees as a quick problem-solver,” says Christian Spengler.

In administration and production, the new CFO is determined to optimise processes for greater efficiency, to put Kögel’s long-term future on solid ground. As well as implementing a sustainable finance strategy, he will also work to advance digitalisation in the company and thus improve the networking of the individual company divisions and departments. This will strengthen internal cooperation between the individual Kögel divisions with the new leadership structure, as well as administrative communication with customers.
