Light, flexible and robust: Spanish company Transova opts for Kögel Cargo FlexiUse

Spanish transport company Transova is expanding its fleet with five Kögel Cargos equipped with FlexiUse bodies. The trailers’ high stability, versatility, robustness and high-quality workmanship, as well as the positive feedback from drivers, were the deciding factor in the purchase.

From palleted goods to recycled products to paper rolls: Transova, a logistics service provider based in Irun, near San Sebastian in Spain – and thus directly near the border with France – transports a wide variety of goods. “We very rarely turn down an order. That’s why we need versatile trailers that can be adapted to the requirements of different loads,” explains Jean-Paul Gonçalves, Managing Director of Transova. The company head also values the reliability, stability and workmanship of the trailers immensely. “We were able to see the high quality of the Kögel trailers for ourselves at trade fairs. At the same time, drivers shared with us their very good experiences with them,” explains the Transova boss. Naturally, the purchase price was also part of the equation. For these reasons, Gonçalves decided to buy Kögel trailers.

Lower operating costs and CO2 emissions₂-emissions

Five high-quality Kögel Cargo trailers with FlexiUse bodies and various lightweight options, such as aluminium rims, are now part of the Transova fleet, which comprises 18 tractor units and 30 towed units. “A lower overall towing weight means less fuel consumption. That’s why the lightweight trailers will also help to optimise the operating costs of the fleet and to decarbonise our road transport,” says Gonçalves – just as promised in Kögel’s company slogan: “Economy meets Ecology – Because we care”.

FlexiUse body indispensable for Transova

The height-adjustable FlexiUse body provides Transova with a high degree of flexibility and enables easier handling of cargo. “A height-adjustable body is an absolute must for us. It not only simplifies the loading process, but also allows us to carry very tall goods,” explains the company chief. Transova primarily serves routes in France, where there are no legal restrictions on vehicle height. The FlexiUse body can be used in France with the internal height of either a standard or mega trailer (2,800 or 3,000 millimetres), regardless of the semi-trailer coupling height, to suit the requirements of the respective cargo. The body can be adjusted in eight 25-millimetre increments at the front, and four 50-millimetre increments at the rear for this purpose. In countries with legal restrictions on external height, the height of the FlexiUse body can be adapted to the semi-trailer coupling height of the tractor unit so that the trailer complies with the legal limit on overall height.
